First Bank is Nigeria's premiere financial institution but its mobile app suffers from a dated user interface and cluttered navigation. This redesign was undertaken to redesign the dashboard to improve visual hierarchy, reduce cognitive load and create a more modern, premium feel that aligns with the bank's strong brand identity.
The current First bank app presents several usability challenges such as visual clutter in the dashboard, poor hierarchy, cognitive load and outdated aesthetics. My goal was to create a clean dashboard that prioritizes the user's financial health. The flat grey details were replaced with a premium navy blue gradient card to create a strong focal point where the account balance is the most prominent element.The primary naviagtion was reduced from 6 icons to 4 to simplify decion-making process for users. Color-coded icons (green for credit and red for debit) in the transaction history. This allows users to scan their spending instantly without reading.
